Perthwaste maximising recycling with new C&I Materials Recovery Facility
Perthwaste Green Recycling has unveiled a new recycling plant which will sort general waste from the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector to recover recyclable packaging and production waste.
The plant, located in Bibra Lake, is equipped with modern equipment and will initially recover aluminium, cardboard, plastic, steel and timber from waste that was previously destined for landfill.
Perthwaste General Manager, Mr Brad Gornall said “The establishment of this plant allows Perthwaste Green Recycling to maximise the amount of recyclable materials recovered from the waste stream and minimise the volume of waste being disposed in landfill.”
“We are entering a new era in waste management, as the recovery of most recyclable material has previously been reliant on segregation at the source into different waste bins” said Mr Gornall.
Perthwaste Managing Director, Mr Kim Gorey said “This new plant reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability and resource recovery.”
Once separated, the recovered materials are sent for remanufacturing into new products.
